In
2010 – 2011 the committee funded the following:
- $5,500.00 was given to the
Scholarship/Grant committee to help fund their awards.
- USD 465 purchased Smart
Airliners, SmartBoards, projectors and laptops for six of their science
classes for a total of $8,351.48
- Co-hosted a new doctor’s meet
and greet with William Newton Hospital at Jim and Laurie Snyder’s house
for a total of $830
- William Newton Hospital
purchased a Fukuda Denshi Cardiac Monitor for the Cardiac Rehabilitation
Program for a total of $12,000
- H. L. Snyder Medical
Foundation name and logo printed on T-shirts for the Second Annual Open
Water Dam Swim, and the Annual June Bug Jog sponsored by William Newton
Hospital for a total of $1,200
In
2011 – 2012 the committee funded the following:
- William Newton Hospital
purchased a new Physio Control Lifepak 15 Biphasic Defibrillator with
Waveform Capnography for a total of $10,000
- Winfield Emergency Medical
Service (EMS) purchased two Panasonic CF-19 Toughbook Computers and
replace 8 long spine boards and straps for a total of $9,070.38
- Veterans Hospital purchased a
Ultrasound / E-Stem Combo Machine for a total of $5,100
- There are a couple of other
items that the Veterans Hospital needs and we will be looking into
possibly funding them this year.
- Parents As First Teachers
(PAFT) purchased an Otoacoustic Emissions Machine (OAE). To do hearing
assessments to families in their program. PAFT needs this equipment to
be fully compliant with the National Center’s guidelines and Kansas
State Board of Education funding requirements.
The
primary objective of the Community Projects committee is to fund needed
medical equipment to Winfield institutions that qualify. This has already
generated new interest in the Foundation and should help with future
contributions. It demonstrates a willingness to give back to the community
that has supported us so well in the past.
